Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 8–10 wooden or metal skewers
Bang Bang Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2–3 tablespoons sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon honey or sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lime juice
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
Garnish
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Cut the chicken breast into uniform bite-sized pieces to ensure even cooking and easier threading onto skewers. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels to help the sauce adhere better later on.
- Make the Bang Bang Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, honey (or sugar), rice vinegar (or lime juice), and garlic powder until smooth. Taste and adjust the spice or sweetness as desired for the perfect balance.
- Thread the Chicken onto Skewers: Carefully thread the chicken pieces onto your skewers, leaving a small space between each piece to allow for even cooking and good airflow.
- Cook the Skewers: Grill the skewers over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes per side until the chicken is fully cooked and nicely charred. Alternatively, broil in the oven or use a stovetop grill pan if outdoor grilling isn’t available.
- Coat and Garnish: Brush or spoon a generous amount of the Bang Bang sauce over the cooked chicken skewers. Sprinkle chopped green onions, fresh cilantro, and toasted sesame seeds on top for freshness, color, and added texture.
Notes
- Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
- Adjust the amount of sriracha sauce to control the spice level of the Bang Bang sauce.
- Can be cooked under the oven broiler or on a stovetop grill pan if a grill is not available.
- Serve with extra Bang Bang sauce on the side for dipping.
- Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) for safe consumption.
