Blackberry Margarita Recipe

  • Author: Lana
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A refreshing Blackberry Margarita cocktail that perfectly balances the tartness of blackberries with the sweetness of liqueurs and a zesty rim. This easy-to-make drink is chilled and shaken to perfection, ideal for a quick delightful cocktail experience.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Drink

  • 1.5 ounces Tequila
  • 3 ounces Sweet and Sour Mix
  • 1/2 ounce Grand Marnier (orange liqueur)
  • 1 ounce Blackberry Liqueur
  • 1 teaspoon Blackberry Syrup
  • Ice (enough to fill glass 3/4 full)

For the Rim

  • Simple Syrup (for rim)
  • Margarita Salt or Sanding Sugar (for rim)

For Garnish

  • Blackberries
  • Lime Wedge

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Rim: Dip the rim of your glass into simple syrup, then immediately dip it into either sanding sugar for sweetness or kosher salt for a tart contrast. This will enhance the flavor profile of your margarita.
  2. Add Ice: Fill the prepared glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes to chill the drink properly.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, blackberry liqueur, Grand Marnier, sweet and sour mix, and blackberry syrup for the perfect blend of flavors.
  4. Shake: Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill and mix all the ingredients evenly.
  5. Pour: Strain and pour the cocktail mixture from the shaker into the ice-filled glass.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish the drink with fresh blackberries and a lime wedge on the rim to add a fresh, fruity touch and color.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of blackberry syrup to control the sweetness of the cocktail.
  • Choosing between a salt or sugar rim changes the drink profile — try both to see which you prefer.
  • Use fresh blackberries for garnish to enhance aroma and presentation.
  • For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with ice instead of shaking.
  • Alcohol content can be adjusted by varying the amount of tequila or liqueurs.
