Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 (17.5 oz) cans Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls (or 8 count regular cinnamon rolls)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 4 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and set the cinnamon roll frosting aside to use later for topping.
- Prepare Baking Dish and Cinnamon Rolls: Coat a 9×13-inch glass baking dish with the melted butter to prevent sticking. Using a knife or kitchen shears, cut the cinnamon rolls into 1-inch pieces and evenly arrange them in the baking dish, making sure to save the frosting for after baking.
- Mix Custard: In a bowl, whisk together the whole milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and eggs until fully combined and smooth, ensuring there are no clumps of cinnamon.
- Assemble and Bake: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon roll pieces in the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set without jiggle.
- Add Frosting and Serve: Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and immediately top with the reserved cinnamon roll frosting. Serve warm for the best experience. For extra richness, try adding a cream cheese frosting instead!
Notes
- You can substitute whole milk with 2% or almond milk if preferred.
- Ensure the casserole is fully set before removing from oven to prevent runniness.
- For a richer topping, consider making homemade cream cheese frosting.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and gently reheated before serving.
