  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

Cuban Sliders are delightful mini sandwiches featuring layers of smoky ham, tender pulled pork, melted Swiss cheese, crisp dill pickle chips, and tangy honey mustard, all nestled between sweet and fluffy Hawaiian rolls. These baked sliders are perfect for gatherings or a satisfying meal, delivering a burst of Cuban-inspired flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Butter Sauce

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Cuban Sliders

  • 1 (12 oz) package Hawaiian rolls (12 rolls)
  • ½ cup honey mustard (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 pound pulled pork (homemade or store-bought)
  • ½ pound thinly sliced ham
  • 1 (6.84 oz) package thinly sliced Swiss cheese (approximately 18 slices)
  • Dill pickle chips, to taste, drained and patted dry

Instructions

  1. Prepare Butter Sauce: In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, grated parmesan, dried parsley, dried basil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until fully combined. Set the butter sauce aside to be used later.
  2. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray to prevent the sliders from sticking.
  3. Slice Rolls: Carefully slice the package of 12 Hawaiian rolls horizontally into two halves creating a top slab and a bottom slab. Do not separate individual rolls; keep each slab intact as one piece.
  4. Assemble Bottom Layer: Place the bottom slab of rolls into the prepared baking dish. Spread ¼ cup of honey mustard evenly over the entire surface of the bottom slab to add tangy flavor.
  5. Add Fillings: Layer half of the Swiss cheese slices evenly over the honey mustard on the bottom slab. Then add the thinly sliced ham over the cheese, followed by the pulled pork spread out evenly. Distribute dill pickle chips across the meat, according to your taste preference.
  6. Add Top Layer and Cheese: Place the remaining Swiss cheese slices on top of the pickle chips, then carefully position the top slab of rolls over the assembled ingredients to form the slider sandwich.
  7. Apply Butter Sauce: Spoon the prepared butter sauce evenly over the surface of the top rolls, ensuring the entire top is covered to help create a golden, flavorful crust during baking.
  8. Bake Sliders: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the sandwiches are hot through, the cheese has melted, and the rolls have absorbed the flavors.
  9. Serve: Remove from the oven, cut the sliders into individual portions, and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious Cuban Sliders!

Notes

  • Store leftover sliders covered in the refrigerator for 3-4 days to maintain freshness.
  • For longer storage, freeze the sliders for 2-3 months; thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
  • Reheat by warming in the microwave or baking in the oven until heated through.
  • Use fresh dill pickle chips and pat them dry to avoid soggy bread.
  • You can substitute pulled pork and ham with other deli meats if desired.
