  • Yield: 9 servings 1x

Description

This easy 20-minute Tiramisu recipe offers a quick and delicious take on the classic Italian dessert. Featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a creamy mascarpone mixture whipped to perfection, it requires no baking and is perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a delightful treat at home. Ready to chill and serve after just a few simple steps!

Ingredients

Scale

Cream Mixture

  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream (360 ml)
  • 8 ounce container mascarpone cheese, room temperature (225 g)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (67 g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (5 ml)

Coffee Soak

  • 1 1/2 cups cold espresso, prepared (360 ml)
  • 3 Tablespoons coffee flavored liqueur, optional (Kahlua or DaVinci brands) (45 ml)

Assembly

  • 1 package Lady Fingers (Savoiardi brand recommended)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting the top

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cream Mixture: Add the heavy whipping cream to a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed using an electric mixer or stand mixer. Gradually add granulated sugar and vanilla extract while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until fully combined and smooth. Set aside.
  2. Dip the Ladyfingers: In a shallow bowl, combine the cold espresso and coffee liqueur if using. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring both sides are moistened but not soaked, to prevent sogginess.
  3. Layer the Dessert: Arrange a single layer of the dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of an 8×8 inch or similarly sized pan. Spread half of the mascarpone cream evenly over the ladyfingers. Add another layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers on top, then smooth the remaining mascarpone mixture over this second layer.
  4. Chill and Finish: Generously dust the top layer with cocoa powder using a fine mesh strainer for even coverage. Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 3 to 4 hours, or up to overnight, to allow flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly before serving.

Notes

  • Do not soak the ladyfingers for too long to avoid a soggy dessert.
  • For best results, use freshly brewed espresso that has been cooled.
  • Mascarpone should be at room temperature for smooth mixing.
  • The coffee liqueur is optional but adds a traditional flavor depth.
  • Refrigerate for at least 3 hours to allow the dessert to firm up and flavors to develop.
  • Use a fine mesh strainer to dust cocoa powder evenly without clumps.
