  • Author: Lana
  • Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes (includes chilling time)
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A light and refreshing strawberry mousse made with fresh strawberries, sugar, and whipped cream. This easy no-bake dessert combines pureed strawberries folded into stiffly whipped cream, creating a smooth and airy texture perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Strawberry Puree

  • 12½ ounces strawberries (3/4 pound), cleaned and sliced
  • ½ cup granulated sugar

Cream

  • 1 cup cold heavy cream (whipping cream with at least 30% fat content)

Topping

  • Extra fresh strawberries for garnish, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberry Puree: Clean and slice the strawberries, then place them in a blender or food processor with the granulated sugar. Puree the mixture until smooth. Reserve ½ cup of the puree separately and set aside for layering later.
  2. Whip the Cream: In a cold bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form, ensuring the cream is cold to achieve the best volume and texture.
  3. Combine Puree and Cream: Gently fold the remaining strawberry puree (the portion not set aside) into the whipped cream, being careful not to deflate the mixture to keep it light and airy.
  4. Assemble the Mousse: Divide the reserved ½ cup of strawberry puree evenly among 4 small to medium glasses (approximately 1 cup volume each). Top each portion of puree with the strawberry mousse mixture. Refrigerate the glasses for at least 1 hour or overnight if preferred to allow the mousse to set and flavors to meld.
  5. Serve: Before serving, garnish each glass with fresh sliced strawberries. Serve chilled and enjoy this fresh and airy dessert.

Notes

  • Use cold cream and a cold bowl to achieve the best whipped cream texture.
  • The glasses used for serving hold about 1 cup each; adjust portions accordingly if using different sizes.
  • For an extra flavor boost, you can add a teaspoon of lemon juice to the puree before folding it into the cream.
  • Leftover mousse can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
