Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chocolate Mixture: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter. Add 1 1/2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir continuously until the mixture is completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  2. Mix the Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar. Whisk them together until well combined.
  3. Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Add 3 large eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon salt to the sugar mixture. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and slightly fluffy. Then gradually whisk in the cooled chocolate butter mixture.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: Gradually sift in 1/2 cup all-purpose flour and 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder into the wet ingredients. Gently fold the batter until smooth and lump-free.
  5. Add Oreos: Fold in 2 cups of roughly crushed Oreo cookies, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8”x8” (20cm x 20cm) baking dish with parchment paper.
  7. Pour and Top: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. For extra indulgence, sprinkle additional chocolate chips and crushed Oreos on top.
  8. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs for fudgier brownies or clean for cakier brownies.
