  • Author: Lana
  • Total Time: 8 minutes
  • Yield: 1 pitcher 1x

Description

This Easy Margarita Recipe is a classic and refreshing cocktail made with just five simple ingredients: tequila, simple syrup (or agave), and freshly squeezed lime, lemon, and orange juices. Perfect for a crowd or a single serving, this margarita balances sweet, tart, and boozy flavors for a perfect summer drink.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pitcher

  • 16 oz (2 cups) tequila
  • 4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 4 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 4 oz freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 48 oz (1/21 cup) simple syrup or agave

For a Single Serving

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 ½ oz juice (a combo of lime, lemon, and orange juice)
  • ½1 oz simple syrup or agave

For Simple Syrup

  • Equal parts water and granulated sugar (e.g., 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar)

Instructions

  1. Make Simple Syrup: Combine equal parts water and granulated sugar in a microwave-safe bowl (for example, 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar). Microwave until the sugar dissolves completely, which takes a few minutes. Let the syrup cool and store it covered in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  2. Prepare the Margarita: In a large pitcher, pour in the tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, lemon juice, orange juice, and simple syrup or agave. Stir well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Serve: Pour the margarita mixture over ice in glasses. Optionally, rim the glasses with tajin for an extra spicy kick. Enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • Updated recipe suggestion: For a single serving, mix 2 oz tequila of choice (blanco, gold, jalapeno, or other spicy tequilas), 2 oz triple sec (or Cointreau or Grand Marnier), and 2 oz lime juice. Shake with ice and pour into a glass with ice, rimmed with tajin if desired.
  • To make homemade simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water, microwave until sugar dissolves, then let cool.
  • Store margarita in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; not suitable for room temperature or freezing storage.
