  • Author: Lana
  • Total Time: 7 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A quick and easy method to make perfectly poached eggs using an Instant Pot. This recipe allows you to prepare eggs evenly cooked to your preferred firmness by adjusting the pressure cooking time.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 room temperature egg
  • 1 cup tap water (for Instant Pot)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the jar: Spray your mason jar with cooking spray to prevent the egg from sticking, then crack your room temperature egg into the jar gently.
  2. Set up the Instant Pot: Place the rack inside the Instant Pot to hold the mason jar(s). Pour 1 cup of tap water into the bottom of the Instant Pot.
  3. Cook the egg: Place the jar with the egg onto the rack inside the Instant Pot. Close the lid and seal it. Set the pressure cooker to manual mode and cook for 3, 4, or 5 minutes, depending on how runny or firm you prefer your poached egg.
  4. Release pressure and serve: Once the cooking time ends, perform a quick release of the pressure. Carefully remove the jar using oven gloves as it will be hot. Gently invert the jar to slide out the perfectly poached egg onto a plate.

Notes

  • Use room temperature eggs to ensure even cooking inside the Instant Pot.
  • Adjust cooking times to achieve your preferred yolk consistency: 3 minutes for very runny, 4 minutes for medium, and 5 minutes for fully set.
  • Be cautious when handling hot jars to avoid burns.
  • You can cook multiple eggs at once by using additional jars placed on the rack.
  • Make sure the Instant Pot’s sealing ring is properly set before cooking.
