Scale
Rolls and Cheese
- 1 pack Hawaiian rolls (12-count)
- 8–10 cheddar cheese slices or preferred cheese
Optional Meat
- 4 slices turkey bacon, beef bacon, or chicken bacon (optional)
Butter Mixture
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- Pinch of salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the mini grilled cheese rolls.
- Slice Rolls: Slice the entire sheet of Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half without separating the individual rolls, creating a top and bottom layer.
- Add Cheese: Lay the cheddar cheese slices evenly over the bottom half of the rolls for an even melt.
- Add Bacon (Optional): If using, place the turkey, beef, or chicken bacon slices on top of the cheese layer.
- Replace Top Layer: Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls back over the cheese and bacon layer.
- Prepare Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Brush Butter Mixture: Generously brush the butter mixture over the top of the rolls to add flavor and promote browning.
- Cover and Bake: Cover the tray with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes.
- Uncover and Brown: Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 to 7 minutes until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.
- Slice and Serve: Slice the baked Hawaiian roll sliders into individual portions and serve warm for the best taste.
Notes
- You can substitute cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese such as mozzarella, Swiss, or pepper jack.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the bacon.
- Keep the rolls covered with foil during the first baking stage to ensure the cheese melts without over-browning the tops.
- Serve these sliders warm for the best flavor and texture.
- To add extra flavor, drizzle a little honey mustard or serve with ketchup or ranch on the side.
