Description

A quick and easy recipe for hot and spicy Sriracha Chili Garlic Oil Noodles, perfect for a flavorful weeknight dinner. These noodles are tossed with a spicy sriracha chili sauce, garlic, sesame seeds, and fresh herbs, then finished with sizzling hot oil for an indulgent, aromatic kick.

Ingredients

Scale

Noodles

  • 6 oz Roland® Organic Udon Noodles

Sauce & Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds (plus additional for garnish)
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon Roland® Sriracha Chili Sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 2 green onions, chopped (plus additional for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup neutral oil

Instructions

  1. Cook the noodles: Boil the udon noodles according to the package instructions until they are tender. Once cooked, rinse them under cold water for a few seconds to stop the cooking process and drain well. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the hot chili garlic oil: In a saucepan, heat the 1/4 cup of neutral oil over medium-high heat until it becomes sizzling hot but not smoking. This hot oil will be poured over the noodles to release their vibrant aromas.
  3. Assemble the noodle bowl: Place the drained noodles in a large bowl and add the dark soy sauce, low sodium soy sauce, sesame seeds, crushed red pepper flakes, minced garlic, chopped green onions, fresh cilantro, and sriracha chili sauce on top of the noodles.
  4. Combine and garnish: Carefully pour the hot oil over the noodles and the mixture of toppings. Toss the noodles thoroughly until everything is evenly coated and the flavors meld together. Garnish with additional chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Use low sodium soy sauce to control saltiness, but adjust according to your taste preference.
  • Be careful when pouring hot oil to avoid splattering.
  • For extra protein, consider adding cooked chicken, tofu, or shrimp.
  • Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper flakes and sriracha to control spiciness.
  • Udon noodles can be substituted with other thick wheat noodles if needed.
