  • Author: Lana
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 burrito melts 1x

Description

This Steak Avocado Burrito Melt combines tender, seasoned flank steak with creamy avocado and melted cheese, all wrapped in a warm, crispy flour tortilla. Perfect for a quick, satisfying meal that blends rich flavors and textures with ease.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak

  • 1 pound flank steak (or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Burrito Melt

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (for serving, optional)
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the thinly sliced steak with garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Add the steak to the hot skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked to your preferred doneness. Remove the steak from heat.
  2. Assemble the Burrito Melt: Warm the flour tortillas in a separate skillet for about 30 seconds on each side until they become pliable. On each tortilla, layer the cooked steak, sliced avocado, and shredded cheese. Fold the sides over the filling and tightly roll up each tortilla. Place the burrito seam-side down in the skillet.
  3. Fold and Melt: Cook the rolled burritos for 2-3 minutes on each side until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese inside has melted.
  4. Serve: Remove the burrito melts from the skillet and slice them in half. Serve with optional sour cream and garnish with fresh cilantro if desired. Enjoy your warm and flavorful Steak Avocado Burrito Melt!

Notes

  • Use flank steak or sirloin for a tender and flavorful filling.
  • Adjust seasonings to your preference for more or less spice.
  • Warming the tortillas beforehand helps prevent tearing and makes folding easier.
  • For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed onions or peppers.
  • Optional sour cream and cilantro add creaminess and freshness to the dish.
