  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A refreshing and vibrant Watermelon Mint Margarita Mocktail that combines the sweetness of watermelon with invigorating mint and zesty lime, all perfectly balanced with non-alcoholic tequila for a delightful, alcohol-free cocktail experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Mint Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves, packed
  • 1 cup water

Mocktail

  • 4 cups cubed seeded watermelon
  • ¼ cup non-alcoholic tequila
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • ¼ cup fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes (as needed)
  • 4 lime slices, for serving
  • Extra mint leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the mint simple syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water, 1 cup granulated sugar, and 1 cup packed fresh mint leaves. Heat over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes to infuse the syrup with mint flavor.
  2. Strain and cool the syrup: Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve, pressing on the mint leaves to extract maximum flavor. Discard the leaves and let the syrup cool completely before use.
  3. Blend the watermelon mixture: In a blender, combine 4 cups cubed seeded watermelon, juice of 1 lime, ¼ cup fresh mint leaves, and ¼ cup of the mint simple syrup. Blend until completely smooth and vibrant in color.
  4. Shake the mocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Pour the blended watermelon mixture over the ice, then add ¼ cup non-alcoholic tequila. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds to chill and combine flavors thoroughly.
  5. Serve: Strain the shaken mocktail into glasses filled with fresh ice. Garnish with lime slices and extra mint leaves. Serve immediately for a refreshing drink.

Notes

  • Use seedless watermelon for a smoother texture or remove seeds before blending.
  • The mint simple syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of sugar in the syrup or watermelon used.
  • Non-alcoholic tequila can be substituted with flavored sparkling water if preferred.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the fresh flavors and prevent separation.
